Can't stop listening...

To the new Adele 21 album.
I love it so much. Her soulful voice especially in the song "Someone Like You" makes it seem like everything will be ok. Ugh. Emo I know. Enough of that. Listen and see for yourself.

I WANT... I LOVE...

So... I LOVE SHOES. Obsessed. 
My mother always told me to wear heels as much as possible. Some people don't know how I survive. I wear a lot of platforms and wedges, that's the secret. I don't wear shoes that I can't walk in. And girls.. some guys... if you can't walk in them, don't wear them. Practice until you can. Best advice I can give.

ART.

This year, I'm trying to be more cultured. I could stare at art all day long but rarely do I visit museums. I'm trying to change that. 

LACMA is free after 5 pm - So you (really me) have no excuses. 
Cindy and I went to see the William Eggleston Retrospective and I really enjoyed it. 

LA Art Show - January 22 - LA Convention Center - Art, Art and more Art. A lot from China, which I rarely see. Really enjoyed it. Went there with Stacey and J. Here are some of my Favs.

Movies.

Every Friday night is friend date night. Dinner and a movie. 
I love it. 
Here are a few that I have seen this past year (that I remember.. because I've seen a lot)...
Mind you I like most movies. 

 Loved. Colin Firth is the winner this year. hands down. If Christian Bale wasn't in the running, Geoffrey Rush would have been my pick. Saw a screening with a q and a with the screenwriter David Seidler. Turns out he was a stutterer too! 

  Intense. Natalie Portman wins as well. One of the best of our generation. I'm the girl who always jumps in the theater.. but when I saw it, there was a GUY worse than me. haha!

I really didn't know what to expect when watching this. I ended up really loving this movie. Christian Bale and Melissa Leo WIN. no contest. There is a scene in a car with them and it is just my fav scene in the movie. Mark Wahlberg, Amy Adams, and the sisters are icing on the cake.

 Wow. Just wow. Heartbreakingly beautiful. performances so raw and just real. Why Ryan didn't get a nomination is beyond me. 

Holidays 2010

I have to admit that I'm not the biggest fan of the holidays. It gives me nightmares. Malls. Screaming children. Awkward parties that you promised to go to. My friends call me Scrooge. Bah-Humbug. 


But I do enjoy the spirit of Christmas... the big J (Jesus)... friends coming home... and the time i get to spend with the people I love. 


The month of December went by too fast. I had so much fun hanging out with my friends.. drinking.. movies.. eating..  hiking... 
I am a new fan of cookouts. I don't cook. But I clean. I had about three in December and I want to do them more often.
